Crowds and Barriers and Obstacle Illusion, Interdisciplinary and Collaborative Project
The Making of Obstacle Illusion
In 2012 and 2014, I collaborated with Claire Fouquet and Patricia Smith, two faculty members at the University of the Arts to produce the collaborative pieces, Crowds and Barriers and Obstacle Illusion. The projects brought together visual and performing artists within the University of the Arts to strengthen the creative community. Crowds and Barriers and Obstacle Illusion culminated in two short documentaries and performance films.
Crowds and Barriers
Geological and genealogical barriers confront us. Media and news cycles focus on stories of immigration, setting barriers before those who are striving to prosper and have a better life. Breaking emotional and physical barriers influenced the visual artwork, music and dance performances. All the artists and audience members involved were transported to a space between the virtual and the actual where barriers no longer exist.
